Breast augmentation should NOT be a cookie-cutter approach! A customized approach takes an evaluation of your overall body type to ensure an augmentation first fits your shape and is not just about size. I look for proportions that enhance an hourglass figure but still maintain a natural shape (with a natural upper pole slope). Lastly I take in to account the size increase we need to achieve this and try to use the smallest implant to accomplish all these goals. This may be 200 cc on one patient and 500 cc on another depending on their body type and anatomy. Lastly, I like to keep in mind long term aging of the breasts by preserving anatomy and minimizing to much weight on the skin envelope that will accelerate aging over time. This is one of my favorite operations and as you can see in this pic, we have enhanced her overall framework with a moderate profile implant that looks balanced, natural, voluminous, but still enhances her hourglass figure!
